![]() I will say that it being corded can be a nuisance at times. It's easy to clean vs a blender (technically a blender may be easier if you toss the whole thing in the dishwasher but it's a touch of a pain). My gf uses it when making a frosting that involves cottage cheese that must be blended smooth. Can also deal with smaller quantities than a full blender. It can blitz up sauce in a pan (or even in a can!), think while peeled tomatoes. It also whips in less air than my ninja blender which is nice when I don't want to fair for all the foam to settle prior to freezing. The main use case for me is mixing up pints for the Ninja Creami - it fits perfectly in the pint so I can mix it right in there. I own this and it gets a good amount of use. My immersion blender is a very important tool and I'd hate living without one.Īny practical uses for this if you already own a blender? Why should I go through the hassle of pouring hot soup into a blender and having to now clean my blender when an immersion blender will do the trick just as well and it's much easier to clean up. Of course you have to make sure you don't fill a blender to full if you're doing it this way. The downside of pouring piping hot soup into a blender is that hot soup explodes the lid off the blender and you get hot soup all over your kitchen. ![]() There's no reason anyone should ever have any splatter using an immersion blender. If you don't quite have enough soup in the pot, tilt it and create a deeper pool to one side. It's only a drawback if you don't know what you're doing. If the immersion blender is not submerged (if you lift it a little too high) and you don't have a tall sided pot, be prepared to clean your cook top, because liquid will be spinning around at a gazillion rpm'ems. The splatter almost makes it not worth it. It *is* convenient, but there is a draw back. One thing to point out, myself and you/others are saying RE: blending in a pot.
